Founder
Jon Engelbert is the founder of MarginKind. Based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, he brings a strong background in data and software to restaurant operations: statistical methods, data science and machine learning (Coursera), and hands-on work in web applications and analytics.
He was recognized with Proquest’s “Making a World of Difference” award in 2016. His work spans data analysis, full-stack development, and building tools that help businesses run better — which led to MarginKind and Provisions, a single platform that ties together POS, kitchen, ordering, inventory, and labor so restaurants can focus on the dining room and stay in the black.

Phillis Engelbert is a company advisor to MarginKind and owner of The Lunch Room businesses in Ann Arbor. She brings first-hand experience running restaurants — from daily operations to labor, inventory, and guest experience — and helps ensure Provisions is built for how real operators work.
